Apparently Highland Rugby has their haka, which I think is pretty stupid. Winning 17 championships is certainly an awesome feat, but drop the haka, I doubt a lot of those guys are even Maori.
I read somewhere that the All Blacks choose the leader of the haka based on Maori heritage...the player with the highest Maori pedigree gets to lead the haka. I don't know if this is true, someone please confirm or correct me if I'm wrong.
In any case I was never a fan of non-Maori Americans doing the haka, always seemed out of place and context.
Couldn't Americans who want to do a haka invent one unique to American culture or the heritage of the players on the team?
This movie is completed and has been screened for critics. The consensus seems to be that aside from the haka issue and a few Hollywood stereotypes, this movie is quite good, with a lot of heart and a good story.

You could say the same thing about the All Blacks; Richie McCaw is about Maori as I am.

KJ,
the Maori "wrote" the haka for the All Blacks, I don't know if Highland had one created and apporved by any Maori's, but I am not sure and as Koz posted, they might have a Kiwi leading the pack. But we have Native Americans here, wy not have them "write" one for us?
I agree about McCaw though. He's a prick I think, and sticking his toungue out? gaaayyyy. Don't tell that to any Kiwi's though.
