Note: Actual Plate Not Shown
The gentlemen of West Potomac emerged as unlikely victors in the Pick 7's tournament this past weekend. There was no distinction between premier, social, and open brackets all teams were pooled together randomly.
We had a great response from everyone and fielded 15 at the pitch. As a result, we supplied much needed players to a hybrid WRFC/West Pot side. WRFC was impressed at the quality of our personnel who stepped on the field with them, and they did a great job.
Now, I will split up the day into two parts: before 3 o'clock and after. Before 3 o'clock was a dark time before history, anarchy reigned and no one can really tell for sure what happened. Archeologists are currently trying to piece together the story of that lost age, and I will inform you the moment I hear from them.

West Potomac went undefeated at Pick Sevens!
(After 3 o'clock)
West Potomac found themselves in the Plate Final, which is the battle for third place. Facing Baltimore-Chesapeake, West Pot dominated the match and won 28-0.
Standout Performances of the Day:
Panic- Panic was a beast on the field and showed his potential to be a marquee player. I'm pretty sure he put down at least one try.
Bobby- Hands down the best tackler on the field. This little scrumhalf stood twice as tall at the end of the day (which still isn't much). Bobby's contributions to offense and defense made him heads and shoulders above (Okay I'll stop now) everyone else.
Honorable Mention:
Sunshine played consistent and solid as always.
The Beard gets my vote for most improved player of the summer.
Epilogue
Now with all that out of the way, just in case you're still wondering we lost our first three matches and took a forfeit in the plate semi-finals from the WRFC team we were supplying. Advancing to the plate finals, we won the match that counted and can rewrite history as much as we like.

I would like to clarify the record, I actually scored TWICE! Once in a loss match where I galantly darted through a stacked defensive backline, and again in the plate finals when i pooch kicked past a lesser apponent and used my unparalled speed to get to the try and put a hand on it. Also, Bible helped...
