West Potomac Defeats Winchester 37ish-7

West Potomac defeated Winchester 37ish-7 on Saturday. The first half got off to a slow start for West Pot as Winchester scored early and gave West Pot its first deficit of the season. West Pot began to slowly get the game back together and has the half time whistle blew, the good guys were back up 15 to 7.

As the second half started all of the momentum shifted to West Pot and tries came with the quickness. The second half also saw increased discipline in the rucks which allowed for multiple phases of rugby to be played. Some strong efforts by the backline led by Sunshine and Brent opened up the game and by the end West Pot was working as a collective unit.

I was particularly pleased with the way West Pot came out in the second half. Our mistakes from the first half were corrected and we began to play as a solid team. The hard hitting Winchester team tried to knock us out but we were able to hit gaps and control possesion to come away with a solid win.

No matter how many matches we win, it will not matter until we advance in MARFU. Get ready for North Bay, the playoffs, and get out to practice.
