West Potomac RFC elected Dave "Bible" Gedeon as President earlier this month. West Pot continued its system of constitutional monarchy by bestowing both the Presidency and Captaincy in one office. This system was started several years ago by outgoing President Robb Stout, whom President-Elect Bible decreed shall forever be known as "Dear Leader."
Bible's ascension was supported by a strong majority of the electorate, and many saw him as heir-apparent after Stout's refusal of the laurel crown. Bible's candidacy was not without controversy, however as accusations emerged that he was in bed with prominent power player LeeAnn Dickson. Furthermore, many saw Bible's support of Ohio State University football as showing lack of judgment.
Bible's cabinet was also selected on this historic night. The hawkish Brian "Sunshine" Lapato was chosen to oversee foreign policy as Match Secretary, and newcomer Ryan Goicoechea will head up the recruiting department. Naturalist and wild man Andrew Panek will oversee groundskeeping while Robb Stout remains a part of the administration as Social Secretary. Dave "The Beard" Rogge will assist Stoudt as Deputy Undersecretary for Social Affairs.
