Spring Thaw 2k12 - Success!

The Annual Spring Thaw went off this past Saturday to quite a bit of fanfare. More than 20 people showed up!

With the Marine's going AWOL, the participants were limited to Montgomery College and Winchester RFC. West Pot took advantage of its size versus Montgomery putting down a myriad of forward tries. At one point, after an incredibly accurate penalty kick out into touch at the 5 meter line by Bible, the backline was able to take a break as the lineout was won, maul formed, and ball touched down.

The second match was against actual adults which proved a bit more challenging. Winchester started quick with two tries and penalty in the opening 10 minutes of the match. They were able to hold on for the 17-0 win of the fighting Beavers.

West Pot did go on to win the party afterwards at 18th Amendment as all teams failed to show. Very weak sauce Winchster, very weak.

Market Research for a Rugger

Posted for a former George Washington University Rugby player:

Hello all,

I'm in the home stretch of a graduate school program and am working on my culminating project: a hypothetical business plan for a U.S.-based and focused rugby website. One component of the plan is a market research section, and this is where I am requesting your assistance.

Please take a minute or two to fill out this quick survey (9 multiple choice questions and should literally take only a minute or two); this really would be a big help.Click here to jump to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LYXXMBD

Thank you very much and I hope everyone is well!

7s Practice and 1st Tournament of the Year

Sirs,

West Potomac sincerely apologizes for the bombardment of e-mails in the past few minutes.

For those interested there will be 7s practice tonight at Gravelley Park from 6:30 to Dark. If you have a rugby ball please bring it along.

On Saturday, June 13th West Potomac will be entering the Social Division of Washington’s Pick 7s tournament. We won the Cup or Plate or something last year at this tournament so plan on making it out to defend whatever it is we won. Scott Alexandar, mscottalexander (at) gmail (dot) com, will be organizing for West Pot. The cost will be about $20 per player, less if more people show up.
