Practice this Saturday - 10:30 AM

We are practicing Saturday at 10:30 AM at Gravelly. I know it's going to be cold, but I don't care. Show up, run around, play rugby, and then go to Rocklands to have BBQ and PBR. We are getting ready for MARFU. Who knows, it could be cold in April, Global Weirding can wreak havoc.

Scrimmage tonight at 7 pm at Benning-Stoddert - All are Welcome

Hello,

We are having practice this evening at 7 pm at Benning-Stoddert. At about 7:33 pm we will commence with a full intra-squad scrimmage. Please plan on attending as Pablo of the PRU Ref Society will be joining us to referee the scrimmage. I would like us to treat this as we did the scrimmage to start the year, which means take it seriously and use it as an opportunity to work our game plan in a full speed environment.

On Saturday we are playing Warrenton at Warrenton with a 1 pm kick-off and a b-side to follow. Sunshine will be sending out directions to the pitch and carpool information.

Cheers,

Bible

Notes and News

We are running touch practice this Saturday at Gravelley at 10 AM. Practice will wrap up around Noon and then we will head to Rocklands in Arlington for lunch. Please do your best to show up. If you are not attending the ref clinic then you do not have an excuse for missing.

Here is a map from Gravelley to Rocklands http://maps.google.com/maps?daddr=3471+Washington+Blvd,+Arlington,+VA+22201&geocode=&dirflg=&saddr=Gravelley+Park&f=d&sll=38.885922,-77.105012&sspn=0.011608,0.019226&ie=UTF8&ll=38.866879,-77.044888&spn=0.011611,0.019226&z=16

Reminder: Happy Hour and Rugby at Hamilton's tonight. It starts whenever you get there, but some Heineken Cup rugby will be on the TV around 8.

Fitness. I can't stress the importance of fitness for our team and that starts with every individual. We do not want to waste time this Spring waiting for people to get in shape. Start now, get to a gym, do some intense work outs. If you can't get to a gym you can do this work out anywhere:

5 rounds for time
20 Push Ups
30 Situps
50 Squats

If you hate working out alone Ryan, our recruiting person, is always looking for someone with whom he can run.

See everyone tonight at Hamilton's.

Fall Schedule and Fifteens Practice

The 2008 Fall Schedule has been posted to the website so go check it out and start RSVP'ing your regrets to any weddings that you have been invited to. Or convince people to get married during the week (but not Tuesday or Thursday evening -- we have practice).

Our first "official" fifteens practice will be Saturday 8/16 at Gravelly Point from 10-noon. We will follow that up with another Saturday practice on 8/23 and then start our regular Tues/Thurs night training on 8/26.

Find out about some "informal" training sessions after the jump...

For those of you who have taken the summer off and want to get a couple structured workout sessions in before Murray destroys you on 8/15, we will be running next Tuesday and Thursday evening at Gravelly. The plan is to start off with our regular stretching and warm-up routine before rolling into some cardio/ball handling drills and then finishing up with a little touch rugby.

I hope to see a good turnout next week so that everyone is on the same page for Saturday and we can get two solid hours of work done instead of running around like a bunch of retarded jackals.

Practice Tonight - Be There

Gents,

This week's message from the Skip was about as pissed as I've ever seen him get in an e-mail.

Robb is a low-key guy who doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve like myself or Cartman, he's not going to yell and scream when things are going off the rails; but that doesn't mean that he's not acutely aware of his team's lack of effort and focus or that it doesn't bother him. We all owe our Captain better than we've given him since we $hit the bed against Harrisburg a few weeks back.

There is still time to salvage something from this Spring season by winning the North Bay Cup this weekend. If we want to go up there and show everyone in the PRU that we're still the team to beat, it starts tonight at practice.

Let's get out there in numbers tonight, kitted up and ready to go at 7pm.

Old Boys, we need you out too! Sneaky Pete, where are you? Jesse Davis, where are you? Greg Harsh, where are you?

With You,

KJ
